Kiki had decided it was time to test her battling skills, so she found Mr. Knight to referee, and the two of them headed out into the battle area. The girl looked around at the grassy field. There were already a couple of battles going on. She wondered how long it would take to find an opponent of her own. She had decided to make this a two on two battle because she did not have the patience for anything longer yet. Plus, she knew some students were still trying to catch Pokemon. She stood there silently, waiting for a challenge. |

Edmund walked into the battle area and looked around. The place wasn't all that impressive but it'd be great for battles of any kind. He saw people battling and watched them for a few seconds before seeing Kiki. "Hey dorm buddy! You wanna fight again? I know you beat me and Andy last time i class but we've trained up some more!" Andy stood up on his head looking confident. <Yeah, we can definitly win this time!> Edmund smiled and had her move down to her shoulder. "but this is a two on two battle right? Um... does that mean we each use two pokemon max or we do one round with two pokemon at the same time? Or was that a double Battle? or is a double battle when it's two trainer's versus two trainers? I get mixed up." Edmund sighed exapperatedly and Andy gave him a pat on the back. <It's ok dummy, we know you're trying.>

Kiki brightened when she saw Edmund approach. Her roommate was a bit odd, but she enjoyed his company. She chuckled lightly at his confusion. "Yes, it's two on two," she said. "Perhaps it's best if we let Mr. Knight explain."
The teacher nodded and stepped forward. "Both of you are allowed to use two Pokemon during the battle one at a time. You battle with your Pokemon until they are no longer able to battle. There are no substitutions. When all three Pokemon on one side can no longer battle, the battle is over. You may begin when you are ready."
Kiki nodded. "Alright." She moved back to give room for her and Ed to battle. Then she took out a Pokeball. "Come on out, Cody." The Lillipup appeared in a flash of light. As the Pokemon would be gaining levels during the battle, the trainer thought it would be best to start with her weakest Pokemon. She smiled at the puppy. "We're going to battle, buddy." Cody wagged his tail happily. His first battle! How exciting!

Edmund pulled out his newest pokeball, a reward he'd recieved for being a hard worker that month. "Come on out Vani, Let's see what you can do!" He sent out his new Eevee and pulled his mask out from the back of his pants. He thought it'd be fun to wear the mask of the pokemon he was using. The Eevee's silvery coat sparkled in the sunlight. She quietly stretched and went into a fighting stance, a bit nervous as she wasn't yet used to her new trainer or battling. "She's cute," Kiki said when the shiny Eevee appeared. She had one herself but they had not had a chance to get to know each other yet. She chuckled lightly as Ed put his Eevee mask on. It was fitting. Now it was time to battle. Since Ed was not doing anything, she thought she would start. "Alright, Cody, let's start off with Tackle." She wanted to test the Eevee's speed and defense.
<Hi!> Cody said excitedly to the Eevee that appeared. He wondered if he would see her again since he recognized her trainer. Maybe the could be friends. Right now, though, he had to focus on defeating her. He listened attentively to Kiki's order. <Ok.> His tongue flopped out of his mouth as he ran towards Vani for the Tackle.

Vani didn't make a sound when she was hit but the blow did cause her to tumble backwards a bit. Edmund didn't worry about it, he knew pokemon could take several hits like that before they got weak. "Ok Vani, Go for a tackle and then a tail whip!" The eevee nodded and charged back at the Lillipup, her adaptability giving her attack a little more 'oomph'. <Sorry.> She then spun around to swing her tail at the dog's face and lower his defense. She didn't really know why but her master had ordered it so she obeyed. Kiki watched as the Eevee was hit. The attack did not seem to do a lot of damage. They were going to have to change it up a bit. She did not tell Cody to dodge the counter-attack. She wanted to see how much he could take. Both Pokemon seemed fairly even. This was going to be a long, tough fight. At least both would gain some experience from the battle. "Cody, let's try Leer and then Tackle." She hoped this would work better.
Cody was knocked over by the Tackle. He quickly got back on his feet and shook his head to clear it. The Tail Whip was annoying, but it did not seem to be doing much at the moment. He could handle this. He gave his opponent a menacing Leer before running at her again for another Tackle.

Vani froze up at leer. Edmund started to say something but could tell it wasn't going to help at this point. This was the first time they'd done anything together. She wasn't ready for fast action dodging yet. Although, he was starting to get an idea. Vain tumbled back. "Vani, double tail whip! Then try jumping over him!" Vani shook her fur causing it to sparkle again then charged with her tail whips. Then she stepped back and ran at him and jumped as high as she could, no idea why though. Kiki did not know what they were doing, and she did not have time to try to figure it out. She had to focus on her own Pokemon. Tackle would not do much by itself, so they were going to have to continue to use their combination. "Cody Leer and Tackle!"
Cody was confused by the double Tail Whips. Weren't they going to do anything else? The jumping really caught him off guard. This was madness. Still, he had to listen to his trainer. He attempted to use Leer, but he was not sure how effective it would be when the Eevee was above him in the air. Then he quickly ran forward and jumped after Vani, hoping to intercept her in the air.

Vani's jump had put her just out off the Leer's range but Cody's tackle still connected. Vani fell on her side but quickly got up panting. "Ok Vani! One more tail whip and then hit him hard with a tackle!" Vani ran forward and used Tail whip again. She then smiled a little, happy to be told to do something other than Tail whip and charged at Cody. Kiki decided to let Cody get hit again. With all of those Tail Whips, she wanted to get the damage out of the way. She knew it would be a critical hit, and she did not want him fainting after one Tackle later on. "It's ok," she said to him gently. "Use Leer and Tackle again." She hoped the Leer would be successful this time. They really needed it.
Cody braced himself for the Tackle. It hurt much more than he thought it would. He felt dizzy as he stood up again, but he could still fight. He used Leer against Vani and then ran forward. Battling was kind of fun. He wanted to win this.

Vani froze up and was knocked back by the combo attack. "Just a little more Vani! You can do it! Use another double tail whip then brace yourself!" Vani panted, feeling greatly weakened but did as she was told, swinging her tail at the lillipup as fast as possible, wanting this to be over with. As soon as she heard Ed's orders, Kiki knew they had to act quickly. Cody would likely be knocked out after the next damaging attack. There was no time for Leer. She did not want to risk missing. "Quick, Cody, Tackle!"
The Lillipup was excited when his attack hit again. He was getting good at this! He was taken back by the double Tail Whip attack. Again? He heard his trainer, and since Vani was already right beside him, he charged at her.

Vani was pushed to the side by the attack but stayed on her feet. "Now Vani, show that pup why you were swinging your tail so muchwith a tackle!" Edmund shouted the order with gusto and watched as Vani charged at Cody with all she had. Cody was too weak to dodge the attack. The Tail Whips took their tole, causing him to be knocked out after the attack.
Kiki was disappointed that her Lillipup had lost, but he had put up a good fight. "Great job, Cody," she said as she returned him to his Pokeball. She thought for a second about who to call out next. Having decided, she located the correct Pokeball and pushed the button. "Alright, Chomper, let's use Water Gun." Vani was pretty weak herself, so hopefully the attack would hit.
Chomper was excited to be let out of his Pokeball. It looked like they were battling. He smiled at the pretty Eevee. He wanted to go make friends, but he knew he had to obey his trainer. Staying where he was, he let out a jet of water straight at his opponent.
