Zoey smiled at Meowthers. He seemed to be having fun. "Look out!" she said when she saw him attempting to scratch her Mudkip.
Flower anticipated another attack. However, it wasn't enough to fully avoid it. She tried to jump out of the way of the Meowth's claws, but they still got her. It wasn't that bad, though.
"Use Tackle again!" Zoey said. She thought both Pokemon were performing really well. She hoped they would make a good team too.
Flower nodded at the command. <You're going down, kitty!> she said as she ran toward him another time.

<I'm not a kitty!> Meowthers exclaimed, though he knew this was not true. He dreamed of becoming a beautiful and elegant Persian. To get to that point, he would need to become stronger. He wondered if this trainer could help him achieve his goal. He groaned as he was knocked over by the tackle. He was going to have to think of something quickly. He decided to stick with a Growl for now. He leapt to his paws, arched his back, and let out a long hiss that turned into a growl at the end.

Flower laughed at Meowther's comment. Once she hit him, she backed away in preparation for an attack. She shivered at the growl. It wasn't fun to be on the other side of that attack.
"Hang in there, Flower. You can do do it!" Zoey encouraged her Mudkip. "Tackle!" It seemed very repetitious with only being able to use Growl and Tackle. She would be able to use a new attack soon, though. They just had to work hard to get there. It would be great.
Flower lunged herself at the Meowth another time, hoping the growl hadn't affected her too much. She tried to be brave so it wouldn't.

Meowthers was struck again. This was getting tiring. As he slowly rose to his paws, he wondered if he should give up. No, that would make him look week, and then the trainer would not want him! He had to at least show her that he could do his best. He had some strength left in him and he decided to use it. He an towards the Mudkip once again, extending his claws at the last second for another Scratch attack.

Flower attempted to dodge by jumping up when she saw Meowthers running towards her, thinking he was going to use Tackle. However, as she jumped she got caught in the Scratch.
Zoey wondered how much more either of them could take. She was surprised the Meowth was enduring so much. She hoped they would be able to finish this before her Mudkip became too worn down. "Growl and then use Tackle!"
Flower led out a low growl as she stared at the Meowth. Once she was through, she ran forward, prepared to leap and hit the cat.

Meowthers did not like the combined use of attacks. Why couldn't they just keep it simple? He was too tired to dodge the Tackle, which made him even more exhausted. He reckoned he had enough strength for one last attack. He wondered if it would be enough, for he could not tell how the Mudkip was doing. Oh well. He hoped the trainer would be impressed. As he ran to Flower, he decided to go for a Bite this time.

When she saw Meowth running again for an attack, she said, "Dodge it!"
Flower knew she had to keep going, even if she was wearing down. Battling was tiring stuff! But she was going to show her strength through this battle. It was because of this she did her best to hide her exhaustion. Gathering up her strength, she leapt up to avoid the cat's teeth. Fortunately, she finally successfully dodged him. She landed on the other side of him, feeling delighted at her accomplishment.
Zoey was glad Flower had been able to dodge the Meowth's Bite. "Great job! Now, tackle!" She could feel victory within their grasp.
The Mudkip turned and ran for yet another tackle. Really, when would she learn a new attack? She supposed she would have to show her strength through this one simple one for now. She just hoped it wouldn't be forever!

Meowthers was disheartened when his attack missed. He skidded to a halt and was barely able to turn around before the Mudkip slammed into him again. He could feel himself losing consciousness. His last thought was that of wondering if he had impressed the trainer with his skills. Meowthers has fainted. Flower has gained 2 levels. She now knows Mud-slap. Capture or move on?

Zoey grinned when the Meowth went unconscious. That was quite a battle. She looked at Flower and smiled at her, feeling really proud of her first battle. "That was great! You fought really well." Now, it was time to capture her Pokemon. She reached for an empty Pokeball and threw it at the Meowth.

Meowthers was pulled into the Pokeball, which grew still almost immediately.
You captured Meowthers!Species: Meowth Name: Meowthers Gender: Male Level: 6 Attacks: Scratch, Growl, Bite Nature: This Meowth is very sweet. He loves to cuddle and show his affection to people and Pokemon he likes. He views battling as more of a game than something to be taken seriously. He enjoys taking long naps. History: His first trainer easily captured him when he was level four. His trainer tried to get him up to level six to teach him Bite, but it was no use. Meowthers was soon released. He was then captured again. The second trainer was able to level him up, but the Meowth would constantly bite him in a display of affection. He was soon cast aside too. Now he wanders around Shupert City, looking for a trainer he can keep forever. Flower jumped up and down once in excitement. <Yeah!> That was fun. She was so glad she had been able to beat him. Now, she could relax. She looked up at her trainer, feeling good she had been able to make her happy.
Zoey ran forward and picked up the Pokeball. "You're going to be a great addition to our family," she said to the Meowth in the Pokeball. She wanted to take him out and meet him more officially, but she knew he had to rest. So did Flower. "Thank you, Flower. Take a long rest." She smiled as she put the Mudkip back in her Pokeball. Then, she placed both Pokeballs safely in their place. It was time to head back. With two new Pokemon to get to know and battle with, she walked back through the park, enjoying the sunny day. [Finished]
